Funding helps a number of projects

THREE community organisations were presented with cheques from Mayor Brad Carter to assist them in completing community projects.

The Capricorn Coast and District Historical Society received $1000, Rotary Club of Yeppoon received $2500, and the Keppel Coast Gymnastic Club was presented with a cheque for $1610.

Cr Carter said it gave hime great pleasure to present the three groups with donations from the Community Benefit Fund (CBF) to assist them in bringing forward their projects.

"Funds given to the Rotary Club of Yeppoon will be used to restore the Yeppoon Town Clock, which has been deteriorating and out of action for many years," Cr Carter said.

"The Capricorn Coast and District Historical Society will use this donation to assist with relocating, and re-establishing equipment and records associated with moving back into the 'Bunker' at the rear of Yeppoon Town Hall.

"Keppel Coast Gymnastic Club will use the money to purchase mats and equipment to ensure necessary safety for the gymnasts."
