Funeral planned for CQ SES worker

THE funeral for SES volunteer Matthew Stevens will be held at the Uniting Church in Theodore tomorrow.

The 28-year-old, who grew up in the close-knit country town, was killed at the Theodore Fire Station when a truck he was working on accidentally reversed over him while responding to a callout at 6.30pm last Friday.

Matt, his wife Jessica and his brother Tim were all volunteers for the Theodore SES organisation.

The group recently received a highly commended award in recognition of their work during last year's devastating Queensland floods.
