Bischoff funeral set for Monday in Gatton

NOELENE Bischoff and daughter Yvana will be laid to rest at a gravesite next to Don Bischoff, their father and grandfather respectively.

The bodies of the Wurtulla mother and daughter, who died mysteriously after falling violently ill in Bali, have been released and arrangements are under way for their funeral.

It will be held in their home town of Gatton, in the Lockyer Valley, on Monday morning.

Twelve pallbearers will carry the caskets of Noelene and Yvana from the Gatton Baptist Church to Gatton Cemetery.

The Queensland Coroner has completed the autopsies, but it may be "some time" before the results are known.

Noelene's sister, Desley Bowe, and brother-in-law Kevin Bowe have travelled to Gatton with mother Jean Bischoff to organise the final elements of the funeral.

Brother Malcolm, a Sunshine Coast resident, said the funeral would be a much-needed step towards closure for the family.

"This will be our opportunity to give one last goodbye," Mr Bischoff said.

"Noelene and Yvana will be buried in the cemetery beside my father."

Mr Bischoff said although family had originally planned to hold a private funeral, overwhelming support from the wider Gatton community had resulted in a public service.

A memorial service at the Caloundra CityLife Church last week for Noelene and Yvana attracted close to 600 mourners.

The sudden deaths of the pair have attracted worldwide attention.

Ms Bischoff, 54, a Caloundra nurse, and daughter Yvana, 14, became ill on the night of January 3 in their resort room in east Bali.

Food poisoning, allergies and even methanol poisoning have been blamed as possible causes.

"We are just looking forward to actually getting the correct diagnosis as to the reason why they died," Mr Bischoff said.
