G20 gets its sexy on as brothels prepare for rise

WHILE Brisbane brothels look forward to a boom in customers during the G20 summit, the Sunshine Coast's sex industry expects a later rise.

Emma Bennett of Lush Marcoola said the business planned for normal numbers during the official summit next week but expected a boost in the weeks after.

"We have been advised of dignitaries coming to visit our beautiful Sunshine Coast with many attractions bringing them to our region," Ms Bennett said.

"Because of our location being so close to the Sunshine Coast Airport and our brothel premises, and ladies being of the highest of class on the Sunshine Coast, we expect and have prepared for an influx of high-profile clients, Australian and international."

Obviously Lush remained tight-lipped on which, if any, G20 attendees would be paying them a visit as privacy was part of the package, but it had sparked curiosity as to who would making the trip to the Coast after the event.

"If we were to be hosting any dignitaries this would generally have been organised well in advance due to tight schedules of the delegates," she said.

Since opening in July, Lush exceeded all expectations for numbers during what were normally considered "quieter months", Ms Bennett said.

"Our numbers are more in line with what would be expected in the busiest months of the year. The sky is the

limit to what our numbers will be like in the busiest months," she said.

With G20 fever expected to stretch to the Coast, Ms Bennett felt it was a great opportunity to showcase both Australian and international women, however she said there was no need to expand the number of women working during the summit.

Ms Bennett said Lush's procedures, prices and protocols were printed in 27 languages and presented to clients so they were fully aware of what was expected of them as a guest.

In line with the G20 Lush will also tighten its security during the event but there would be no increase to existing legislation regarding brothels.
