Gas leak closes street in Wandal

UPDATE 9.08pm: A STREET in Wandal has reopened after emergency services responded to reports of a gas leak.

The gas company sent crews to repair the leak and Queensland Fire and Rescue Crews checked for leaks before reopening the street.

 

BREAKING 7:05pm:  A STREET in Wandal is being cordoned off as emergency services respond to reports of a gas leak.

A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman says the initial report is the gas leak is in the line going up to a house, but the leak is not in the house.

Police are in the process of closing off traffic to Rundle Street.

It's believed at least one house has been evacuated.
