Gastro fears shut pool

THE Isaac Regional Council has closed the Moranbah Pool due to health concerns.

Mayor Cedric Marshall says the pool was shut down at the weekend after Queensland Health raised concerns about water quality, according to an ABC radio report.

He says it is testing water to see if the pool is the source of a gastro outbreak.

"Queensland Health flew up Monday morning and have taken some samples," he reportedly said.

"That testing will take five days.

"If there is an issue of a possibility of cryptosporidium in the water that will take 48 hours to treat once we've been notified if that is what the problem is."
