UPDATE: Girl, 10, released from hospital after dog attack

UPDATE 11.30am: A Rockhampton Hospital spokesperson confirmed the girl was released from hospital last night after being transported in a stable condition with bites to the back of her head. 

UPDATE, 7.20pm: A 10-year-old girl is being taken to Rockhampton Hospital by ambulance after being attacked by a ridgeback dog at a property west of Rockhampton.

Her condition and extent of injuries are not available at this time.

BREAKING, 7pm: A 10-year-old girl has been mauled by a ridgeback dog on the Stanwell-Waroula Rd west of Rockhampton.

Queensland Ambulance Service officers are responding to a call from owners of the property where the attack occurred.

It's believed the girl has suffered injuries to the back of the head.
