Girl hit by car, taken to hospital

A GIRL, 12, was taken to Rockhampton Hospital yesterday after being hit by a car at Kawana.

An ambulance spokeswoman said the girl did not suffer serious injuries after being hit on Withers Street yesterday afternoon.

Police were called after reports of an aggressive man at the scene.

Police said an investigation into the incident was continuing.

Meanwhile, a truck hit a power pole on Goss Street just before 6pm yesterday, affecting power supply to 380 customers in parts of Allenstown, Nine Mile, Port Curtis and Gracemere.

The incident brought power lines down.

Ergon crews were working hard to restore power.

The truck driver was not seriously injured.
