Girl, 9, dies in crash involving scooter near Brisbane

A NINE-YEAR-OLD girl has died during a traffic crash involving a mobility scooter at Lacey's Creek north-west of Brisbane.

Initial information indicates the girl was riding the mobility scooter with a four-year-old boy on Raynbird Creek Road when it left the dirt roadway and crashed into a culvert on Thursday afternoon.

The girl was pronounced deceased at the scene while the boy was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the incident.
