Girl stung by jellyfish

A GIRL, seven, was airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital suffering a suspected Irukandji jellyfish sting after swimming in waters off Great Keppel Island yesterday afternoon.

A spokesman for the RACQ Capricorn Heli8 copter Rescue service said the girl was assessed and treated on scene by medical staff on board the helicopter before being taken to Rockhampton for further treatment.

She was in a stable condition.
