Girls cultivate the right look
MEGAN Horton has the looks and the right attitude, but with the help of Sunshine Coast stylist Zoe Champion she was picture perfect from tip to toe.
And Zoe has the know-how to make an outfit “pop”.
And every little thing counts when it comes to taking the perfect portfolio picture.
Megan was one of 17 local models to take part in a photo shoot in Rockhampton last week after being scouted by leading industry professional Serena Keenan, owner of Sunshine Coast-based model agency Serena's Image.
Mrs Keenan organised a top team including herself in make-up, Zoe in styling and Chris Reynolds as photographer, and set up a studio at the Leichhardt Hotel for two busy days of shooting.
She said all the girls were chosen from recent model auditions and workshops and the photo shoot was meant to give the girls great images for their portfolio, which they could then put forward for future modelling work.
Megan, 16, a student at Emmaus College, said this was her first photo shoot.
Although she hadn't wanted to be a model for long, recent exposure to the industry had given her the urge to pursue a career.
“It's really fun. I did want to be a dancer, but now I'm not sure,” she said.
Stylist Zoe, 27, has just returned from five years in London, where part of her time was spent working as English fashion designer Stella McCartney's PR assistant.
Zoe has dabbled in a bit of everything and has returned home to the Sunshine Coast to discover her true passion.
She said she was putting in huge working weeks in London.
“So I've come back to recharge and concentrate on getting a balance of lifestyle with career,” she said.
“I also want to make the most out of Queensland living.”
Zoe said while she was in Rockhampton she had been impressed by our local models.
She said being a top model was all about having attitude and a keen urge to learn.
Since Serena's Image branched out into Central Queensland some of our local models have filmed a commercial in Mackay and worked on the new Stockland Rockhampton commercial.
Mrs Keenan will be back in Rockhampton on October 10 and 11 holding another deportment and grooming class and an audition.
She is looking for men, women and children of all shapes and sizes who can act.
