Girls ready to perform in spotlight at Pilbeam Theatre

COURTNEY Ah Shay and her friends are getting ready to rock the Pilbeam Theatre next week.

The dance and singing trio will perform at Rockhampton Girls Grammar's annual Girls Rock show.

Courtney, Nykosha Richardson and Natalya Schumacher have been practising their joint routine for weeks and can't wait to hit the stage.

"We're singing and dancing to Roar by Katy Perry," Courtney said.

The show's been running for more than 10 years, but this is the first time at the Pilbeam Theatre.

The event will have talent from Prep to Year 12, and students will entertain with singing, dancing, drama acts, ensembles and choirs.

Dance and music teacher Louise Halvorsen said it's one of their biggest events of the year.

"The school community sees it as an end-of-year celebration," she said.

The show is on at the Pilbeam Theatre on Wednesday.
