Glenn sings praises of Rockhampton Hospital
FROM the reception to the operating room, Glenn Boulter can't speak highly enough of the staff at the Rockhampton Hospital.
The Rockyview man was at home working on a car when he dropped a flywheel on his hand last Saturday, crushing the tip of his middle finger.
"It was that quick I can't really remember what happened," he said.
"I just must've let it go. Down she came and crunch."
As investigations into the alleged botched surgery practices of Rockhampton surgeon Dr Antonio Vega Vega continue, Glenn said he thought it was important to acknowledge the hard working staff who made his experience a positive one.
So Glenn posted a thank you note on The Morning Bulletin Facebook page, praising the hospital's services.
"It's easier to whinge than to compliment," he said earlier this week.
"That's why I thought I would post it."
Glenn said it was human nature to focus on the bad, but for every mishap there were plenty of success stories. "What I really noticed the most is that all of the staff were genuinely caring," he said.
"I wasn't just another person who had done something silly."
After visiting the emergency ward, Glenn was later taken to the operating theatre where he underwent surgery on his finger.
The next day he was discharged.
"With my experience I would have no problem whatsoever (going back to the Rockhampton Hospital)," he said.
