Gottke out despite bail breach

AN ACCUSED robber has been released from police custody again despite breaching his bail less than 24 hours after it was imposed.

Justin Wayne Gottke was convicted and fined $400 by Magistrate Annette Hennessy in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday after he breached the conditions of his bail by leaving his house while unaccompanied by his mother.

Gottke faces one count each of armed robbery, attempted armed robbery and a drug offence which stem from the alleged knife-point robbery of two service stations last weekend.

He was found by police on Monday morning away from his home address and without his mother.

On Wednesday police applied to revoke his bail but this was rejected by Ms Hennessy.

At the last hearing she raised concerns about keeping him in custody without a formal assessment of his mental disability.

Gottke is due to appear in court again on June 22.
