Government splashes out

A HOLE in the ground was enough for Premier Anna Bligh to get a visual idea of how the Rockhampton Riverbank Redevelopment project will stack up.

Ms Bligh, yesterday announcing the last round of funding for the project, took the opportunity to have a look at the work to date on the site.

“The concept plans for the next stage of the riverbank development are now available to go to the council for final prioritisation,” Ms Bligh said.

Ms Bligh said it meant within this financial year construction would start on the next round of walkways.

She said it didn’t matter where you lived in the region, all would benefit from the development, residents and visitors alike.
