Graham Scott says Yeppoon Foreshore part of solid future

The Yeppoon Foreshore and Town Centre Revitalisation Project will be a key development for the Capricorn Coast. The primary objective is to create economic uplift by providing a wide range of opportunities for a broad cross section of our community, including existing businesses. It must include a "signature experience" that drives visitation. Ongoing costs and income potential need to be fully understood. We need to maintain the standard set by the Centenary of Anzacs Project in Emu Park, a nationally significant project.

The main reason I ran for the council was to help establish an organisation better than its predecessor, and create a sound foundation for the future of Livingstone Shire Council.

We now have strong leadership, a good structure with great people, a positive cohesive council, and excellent engagement with the community and other levels of government, as evidenced by the whole of community response to TC Marcia and strong funding support for critical infrastructure projects. This is a great achievement in under two years.

The challenge for the next council term will shift from inception towards consolidation.
