Greyhound Racing Victoria board quits in livebaiting scandal

THE entire board of Greyhound Racing Victoria have quit as the sport continues to be torn apart by the ongoing live baiting scandal.

The Victorian Government accepted the resignations from the board members, appointing Ray Gunston as the new chair.

It follows a similar mass exodus of executives from the board  the Greyhound Racing NSW.

In Queensland, a number of prominent trainers have been banned from ever participating in greyhound racing.

The industry is under intense public scrutiny since ABC's Four Corners revealed the illegal use of live animals was shockingly widespread.

In footage aired in the report, a variety of well-known industry figures were recorded in the act of cruelly using live animals to help train the racing dogs.
