Grog theft fuels long trek

A YOUTH and two young men who allegedly stole several bottles of liquor from a Rockhampton bottle shop on Friday night have been found in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

The alleged offenders are aged 15, 17 and 21.

Police said yesterday the trio stole two bottles each of rum, whiskey and bourbon from the BWS shop on Dean St, Berserker soon after 7.30pm.

The group was challenged by an attendant at the store as they tried to leave the store.

Following a verbal exchange they raced off from the store.

A police spokesman said CIB officers at Fortitude Valley found the youngest of the accused in Brisbane on Sunday.

The other two were picked up yesterday.

All three will appear in court in Rockhampton at a later date having been charged in relation to the incident.
