Ex-Rocky couple are first to have 270-degree views at Oshen
STEVE and Roslyn Clifford are biting into a slice of the high life - in Yeppoon.
The former Rockhampton couple are the first Yeppoon residents to have 270-degree views of the Southern Great Barrier Reef from the $35 million Oshen complex.
They bought two dual-key apartments at Oshen and turned them into a 207sqm three-bedroom, plus office, penthouse-style home.
Mr Clifford said he and his wife, who own Clifford's Food Services in Rockhampton, were thrilled to be enjoying the summer months in their new home.
"We wanted to make a change that was applicable for us ... coming from a house-sized home, we were used to more space so we snapped up two units for the dual-key living space," he said.
"The best part is we haven't had to compromise like a lot of people do when they move from a house to an apartment - we still have a quality home with plenty of space and we are really happy with our purchase."
As well as servicing permanent residents, Oshen's 61 apartments will cater to holiday makers and corporate travellers.
Project marketing consultant Ross O'Reilly said investors were attracted by the flexibility of apartment configurations, including the first two-bedroom, dual-key designs to be delivered on the Capricorn Coast.
Oshen's completion follows a five-year lull of new apartment projects in Yeppoon, which meant demand for short-term accommodation was outstripping supply, he said.
The complex offers 270-degree views of the Southern Great Barrier Reef and features one, two and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses.
Limited one-bedroom apartments at Oshen are priced from $339,000, while two-bedroom options are selling from $589,000.
