Harmony Cricket Match at CQU to promote inclusiveness

A SPECIAL cricket match has been organised for tomorrow in Rockhampton to promote harmony between different cultures.

The Islamic Society Central Queensland, in partnership with the Queensland Police Service, Multicultural Development Association, Rockhampton Regional Council and the Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland is organizing a Harmony Cricket Match tomorrow at the cricket fields at Central Queensland University in Rockhampton.

The organisers of the match are looking to build on the principals of 'Harmony Day' which are about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone, and embracing cultural diversity whilst sharing what we have in common.

And what better way to celebrate what we have in common than by organizing a typically Aussie event like a game of cricket and throwing a few snags on the BBQ.

The game will be very social, is open to men, women and kids. Everyone bats for two overs and bowls for two overs.  What's even better is that the sausage sizzle is free.

Everyone is invited to attend, even if you only want to come and watch the fun.

Don't forget to bring a hat, sunscreen and a chair or blanket to sit on.

The day begins at 8am and will finish around lunch time.
