Two escape injury in helicopter forced landing

UPDATE: Two people were aboard a helicopter which made a forced landing and sparked a fire near Texas, south-west of Warwick, earlier this morning.

Neither person was injured in the incident off Arcot Road at Silver Spur, just outside Texas.

It is understood the helicopter clipped power lines and was forced to make a controlled precautionary landing.

Rural fire crews are understood to be in attendance at the resulting grass fire.

10.50AM: Emergency services have been called to a helicopter crash near the Queensland border with New South Wales.

The incident on Arcot Rd, Silver Spur, just east of Texas was reported about 10.10am.

Emergency services were expected to arrive on scene about 10.45am.

The Rescue 500 helicopter has been tasked to the incident.

There are reports the helicopter is privately owned.
