Help Crime Stoppers help us
THERE will be a strong police presence at the Capricorn Country Golf Club this Friday.
But don't be alarmed, it's all in the name of charity as the Rockhampton Crime Stoppers Area Committee is calling on teams and individuals to take part in the Crime Stoppers charity golf day.
Members of the community are being urged to be on the grounds by 7am to help offer support for the boys in blue.
Rockhampton Crime Stoppers Area Committee chair councillor Rose Swadling said it was an important day to raise money and awareness for the local crime prevention organisation.
Cr Swaddling said they were calling on individuals and teams to join them on the day, encouraging corporate teams to get on board and make a morning of it.
Nominations for the charity golf day can be made by phoning Kevin Hogan on 4927 7033 by October 3. Team entry is $100 or $25 for each person.
"Crime Stoppers plays an important role in the community, but it is dependent on the support from the community," she said.
Cr Swadling said the committee was a partnership between the registered charity and community volunteer organisation Crime Stoppers Queensland Limited and the Queensland Police Service.
"The Queensland Police Service receives all information provided through Crime Stoppers by the community.
"All results achieved following investigations by the Queensland Police Service are provided back to Crime Stoppers Queensland to allow their payment of cash rewards, fundraised within the community."
