Helpers take a ride with Santa

SANTA Claus is coming to town.

And Jesse O’Donnell and Ashley Bennett must have been on their best behaviour.

They are this year’s Santa’s Little Helpers and will ride with him in a float when he arrives in Rockhampton for the annual Heart Foundation and Stockland Rockhampton Christmas Parade tomorrow.

The pair, aged five and eight, are the lucky winners of a Search for Santa’s Little Helpers Competition.

Yesterday they were practising with the Bully’s Buzzy Bee for their big day where they will wave to thousands of people watching the parade.

Santa will arrive at 5.45pm to kick off the procession, which will start from the Rockhampton Cricket Grounds and travel to Stockland Rockhampton via Musgrave Street, where the judging of the floats will take place.

A Christmas concert will also be held outside The Coffee Club at Stockland Rockhampton at 7pm with Brad from Sea FM leading the chorus of familiar Christmas tunes, joined by Curio and Willow from The Shak, local dancers, and more.

Check out tomorrow’s edition of The Morning Bulletin for a copy of the Christmas Parade event guide.
