Unsuccessful Livingstone mayoral candidate was no Goliath
THE race for Livingstone Shire mayor was always going to be a David and Goliath battle.
That is according to unsuccessful mayoral candidate Heath Henwood who said despite a strong campaign, the votes did not get him across the line.
"It had been well received but unfortunately that didn't get across into votes but the message we were trying to get across seemed to be well received," he said.
Mr Henwood said he was prepared for a tough fight against mayor Bill Ludwig.
"It was always going to be a hard fight fighting against Bill who has been there 22 years, he is well-known and it was always going to be a David and Goliath battle and Goliath won on the weekend," he said.
"We had hopes it would be tighter but it was always going to be a struggle."
