THE Victoria Tavern is raising a glass to raise funds for a great cause.
As the official Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany rages on, The Vic Tavern staff decided to make their own event right here in Central Queensland.
Barman Ben Sefton said the night would be filled with traditional German food and games while raising money for the Royal Flying Doctors Service.
"We thought it would be a good time to do it seeing as the real Oktoberfest is on at the moment as well," Ben said this week.
"There'll be German- themed games like a pretzel eating contest, a keg rolling contest, music and more."
The beer, Hofbrau will be served on the night, which is also the first German beer to be imported into Australia.
Ben said the tavern hoped to hold a themed fundraising night each month from now on for a good cause.
"It's a great event for people to get together and go out but it will also raise money for a great cause," Ben said.
"We encourage anyone to come along and get amongst it."
If you book today or tomorrow you will receive a free Oktoberfest starter pack when you arrive on the night.
