Hi-tech hub RT Edwards opens

THE latest addition to Rockhampton Stockland, RT Edwards, is a hi-tech hub where customers can buy all things electronic as well as items as diverse as a mower, washing machine or couch.

The Queensland company is one of the newest additions to the extended centre, and is the only white goods and electronics store in the complex.

Store manager Lindsay Weeding said the response since the opening was very positive.

"It's been good, on our opening day we had no advertising about the store opening and we had a lot of people coming through," Mr Weeding said.

"This store is the most northern in Queensland and it's part of the company's expansion.

"We opened seven stores last year, but most of them have been in the south-east area so far."

Mr Weeding said the store gets its competitive edge from having a renting option available.

"We've had a lot of interest in this because usually they'd have to go to an actual rental store," he said.

"The hi-tech hub format is how all of our new stores have been designed to suit a shopping centre and it's a great new look," Mr Weeding said.

The store will be having its grand opening on Saturday with giveaways, competitions and much more.

Grand opening Saturday, March 10 at RT Edwards Stockland Rockhampton.
