Yeppoon home finally for sale after turbulent beginning

THE very first day Sally Rigby hosted an open house for her Freeman St property, Cyclone Marcia came knocking.

The Yeppoon woman this week finally returned her five-level home to the market, but this time she's doing it alone.

"I am going to have a go at selling it myself," Sally said.

"Who knows the house better than the owner? I only need one person to love it as much as I do."

Sally said the four-bedroom home, which boasts wide views of both the Yeppoon main beach and townscape, had to undergo some minor repairs after the cyclone which led to the market delay.

But looking around the home yesterday, you would never know it was ever anything less than breathtaking. "Any of my friends that come to visit the house, they just get blown away... and not just with the house, but Yeppoon as well," Sally said. "It will be exceptionally hard for me to leave here. I will definitely miss the view."

And if you're offering more than $1.8 million, that view could be yours.

Sally, who is making the move down to Brisbane to be with family, said she wouldn't mind seeing a fellow retiree snap up the 800 sq m property.

"I think they would enjoy the ambiance of it all," she said. "I usually live in a pair of togs and I am in and out of the pool most of the day.

"And I love the fact that it is so close to the CBD."

After owning the home for more than 30 years, and renovating for seven, Sally said she would miss waking up in Yeppoon.

"I always think it is all pretty special," she said.

"I am going to miss it."
