Homeless man fined $100

A HOMELESS man scaled the outside wall of a second-storey North Rockhampton unit just for a place to sleep on the veranda.

Timothy McCord Adidi pleaded guilty in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday to one count of trespass after being charged on January 26 for accessing the High St veranda a number of times in a month.

The 40-year-old, who had eight pages of criminal history submitted in court, had been homeless at the time but had since been placed on Newstart Allowance payments, according to his defence lawyer Anthony Defraine.

Magistrate Barry Cosgrove fined Adidi $100.

"There are various services out there for the homeless," he said.

"Whether they were overtaxed at the time, I don't know."
