Hopeful Capras to play Broncos

THE Central Queensland Capras will take to the field against the Broncos tonight, in hopes of backing up last weekend's outstanding 30-16 win over rivals the Mackay Cutters.

In what was a terrific start to the season for the club, the Capras took down their opponents in all divisions and are hoping for a repeat performance when they take on the Brisbane Broncos fringe squad tonight at Browne Park.

But it's not just about winning or losing, with coach Jason Hetherington still on the lookout for impressive players to make up the official Capras team.

Taking to the field for CQ in tonight's trial will be Cameron Munster, Jackson McEwan, Russell Webber, Joshua Benjamin, Tyson White, Ian Webster, Blake Wallace, John Clayton, Darcey Etrich, Arlin Paki, Alan Rothery, Brent Williams, Gavin Hiscox, Jonathon Tavinor, Sione Tongia, Reggie Saunders, Ben Faulkner, Rhys Chapman, Tevita Jurgensen, Simon Gregory, Daniel Bertucci, Gavin Duffy and Marc Webb with Hayden Buckman on standby.

The Broncos will feature a team of Kurt Capewell, Jack Schaffer, Joseph Forrester, Tom Opacic, Paul Byrnes, Kodi Nikorima, Ashley Taylor, Stephen Coombe, Cameron Cullen, Francis Molo, Caleb Timu, Ben Garcia, Jai Arrow, Brandon Lee, Travis Peeters, Jayden Berrell, Brett Greinke and Joseph Ofahengaue.

Today's rugby league action at Browne Park will also include the Stanwell CQ Capras U16s going head-to-head with the Central Highlands U18s in round two of the Cyril Connell Cup and the Villa Capri CQ Capras U21s taking on a Vanuatu International team in the Australian South Sea Islander 150th Anniversary Challenge.
