Horse killed in car collision

TWO people were taken to Blackwater Hospital after the car they were in collided with a horse near Dingo on Tuesday night.

The driver suffered a broken arm and ribs with the passenger only suffering minor facial injuries in the 8pm crash, 20km north of Dingo.

The horse was killed but it is still uncertain where it came from or how it happened to be on the road.

Duaringa Police Sergeant Glenn Cox was at the scene and said anything could have spooked it.

A short time later, a heavy vehicle had struck the dead horse, which remained on the road following the accident, and it became wedged under the heavy vehicle.

One lane of the road had to be closed.
