Thieves steal alcohol in brazen hotel break-ins

TWO local hotels have been broken into with quantities of alcohol stolen from both premises.

Mount Morgan's Grand Hotel was broken into between 10pm on Monday and 6.30am yesterday with a quantity of alcohol stolen from behind the bar.

Authorities confirmed damage was done to one of the front doors and a glass panel upstairs. It's believed the front door was damaged by a large object.

Police have viewed CCTV footage of the crime.

Rockhampton's Ascot Hotel was also broken into in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police confirmed the break-in happened at 1am and that three cartons of beer were stolen from the back of the building.

It's believed the offenders broke in through a roller door at the rear of the business.

Police are investigating.
