House fight to go to court

A MAN charged with grievious bodily harm will appear in Rockhampton Magistrate's Court today.

The 36-year-old Winton man was charged following a serious assault incident at a house in Ford St, Berserker, at 1am Saturday.

Police allege the man struck a 37-year-old woman inside at the time and also damaged a door at the property.

The woman sustained injuries to her face and ribs and was transported to Rockhampton Base Hospital.

The victim knew the man, who was also charged with wilful damage.

Police received reports of four separate break and enter incidents in the region over the weekend, including Bunnings on Yaamba Rd, and all are still being investigated by police.

Hooning and other traffic matters were also issues in the region on the weekend, with police receiving reports of a black BMW doing a burn out in Allenstown.

An informant told police the BMW was noisy and created smoke doing the burnout on the corner of Derby St and Upper Dawson Rd, before entering the Dan Murphy's bottleshop.

Police also got a report that a learner driver was driving in Campbell St in a gold AU Ford sedan, while unaccompanied, with a five-month-baby on board.

Neither vehicle was found by police.
