House fire at Yeppoon

UPDATE 8.30am: A man has been charged in relation to a fire at a house in Yeppoon yesterday.

Around 7.30pm police were patrolling along Ben Street when they observed a house on fire.

The house was well ablaze, and it has suffered significant damage as a result.

All people at the residence are accounted for and no one was injured.

The house will be guarded overnight and scientific and scenes of crime officers will examine the scene tomorrow.

A man has been charged with once count each of arson and obstruct police.

He is due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court today.

Police Investigations are continuing.

BREAKING 8pm: FIREFIGHTERS are at a house fire in Ben St, Yeppoon.

Reports indicate the house fire was fully involved when crews arrived.

All people have been accounted for.
