IT ALL started with a Hummer Matchbox car and quite literally grew from there.

Rockhampton's newest business cruised into town earlier this month with a V8 engine, polished mag wheels and a 10m-long sparkling white body.

At the wheel, seated on black leather seats in the crisp air-conditioning, was Rocky man Bill Boswood.

He and his wife, Shelley, are already turning motorists' heads in their stretch Hummer limousine as part of their new business, Hummer Luxury Limo CQ.

The couple were inspired to begin their business after one of their grandsons received a Matchbox Hummer and their son googled the popular American 4WD.

"Our son said 'Rocky doesn't have a stretch Hummer, you need to get one!'," Shelley explained with a smile.

Now Nanny and Poppy are the coolest grandparents around, according to the Boswoods' five grandchildren.

The deluxe vehicle can seat 16 people and includes two bars with champagne and rock glasses, LED lights, three LCD screens, a pumping stereo system, and of course a friendly chauffeur - Bill.

They cater for weddings, hen's nights, formals, race days, corporate and business events, even night-time tours spotting Christmas lights around Rockhampton.

Shelley said they covered any event and had many packages on offer, particularly for weddings.

"I've had four children and I know what it's like (on the wedding day)," she said.

And they roll out the red carpet - literally, for the big day.
