Hunting for a James Bond

YEPPOON Little Theatre is calling for secret agents, politicians, bartenders and a down-and-out detective for its first production in 2012, Scarlett Moon.

Directed by Mick Glasen, Scarlett Moon is a take-off of the classic spy story in the vein of Get Smart and James Bond, with 19 characters and community involvement.

Mick said the style was a break-away from predictability and different from traditional theatre.

He said the performance was flexible and the exchange between audience and actors differed each time it was performed.

"It's a two-way street with community theatre," he said.

"It's about what the actors bring out of the audience and the energy the crowd gives the actors.

"Community theatre gives the audience a chance to participate."

Auditions take place on Monday, January 23 at 7pm at The Showplace, 64 William St, Yeppoon.

"There are small roles for people starting out who would like to try stage for the first time," Mick said.

Scarlett Moon will be performed April 13-15 and 20-21.
