Hunting joy ride cut short by police

A RABBIT hunting trip with six mates early on the morning of October 3 ended badly for a 21-year-old who was forced to take the journey on a couch strapped to the tray of a ute.

Shaun David Poots appeared in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on three charges this morning after police cut their hunting joy ride short.

Poots pleaded guilty to one count each of travelling in a part of a vehicle not intended for passengers, possessing a weapon and obstructing police in the performance of their duties.

Poots was fined a total of $1119 for the three offences with no convictions recorded.
