Update: Illicit drug lab not there after all

UPDATE 8.19am Saturday

The emergent situation declared under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSBA) at Cracow yesterday afternoon was revoked last night.

The situation was declared yesterday at around 1.35pm due to the belief there were clandestine drug laboratories in operation at two Third Avenue addresses.

Upon further investigation by specialist police, no drug laboratories were located.

The PSBA was revoked late last night.

Investigations are continuing.  There is no further information available at this stage.

YESTERDAY

POLICE are reporting an illicit drug lab was found in Cracow at a Third Avenue address today.

Around 11.45am police were advised of the discovery made by contractors attending an address at Third Avenue.

The contractors were exposed to fumes and required treatment at the Theodore Medical Centre.

The Public Safety Prevention Act declared an emergent situation.

The declaration was made for a 200 metre exclusion zone around the address.  Roads affected include the intersection of Third and Fourth avenues with the Eidsvold Theodore Road.

At this time three houses have been evacuated.

Specialist police are travelling from Brisbane to the scene.  Emergency services are in attendance.
