Individual flair is easy with cute, vintage Japanese dresses
THEY might seem simply like no more than pretty dresses, but there is nothing ordinary about the range from Come Fly With Me Lola.
The range is vintage Japanese dresses, a trend popular in the US and the UK, and something Monique Purton from Come Fly With Me Lola admits to being hopelessly in love with.
"Vintage fashion is the ultimate in recycling and reducing waste and wearing vintage is a great way to show your individuality," Monique said.
Monique said Japanese vintage was easy to wear for vintage pros as well as for people who were not into vintage but were attempting the fashion style for the first time.
They really are just pretty little dresses in varying styles.
"They're also super convenient because most are wash and wear, no ironing necessary," she said.
Monique said the little black dresses were perfect for a night on the town or date night, while the pretty little floral dresses were great for a Sunday picnic or a day of shopping.
Matching most of her dresses with a colourful skinny belt or favourite tan vintage belt, Monique suggested the next accessory was a long necklace.
"Or teamed with a pair of Dr Martens for the perfect music festival outfit," she said.
Come Fly With Me Lola is a new addition to Rockhampton store My Sister's House, available from next Monday, adding to other vintage items including fashion from Poly Esthers.
My Sister's House is also a stockist for Elwood, Converse, Levi and Dr Martens.
Bargain hunters should make the most of the jeans sale and reduction in all men's wear items.
Store owner Nicole Gillespie said they were clearing stock to make room for new items.
