Injured Raiders upbeat ahead of Titans clash

RAIDERS veteran Brett White believes his team can cover for the loss of impressive young centre Jack Wighton, out with a broken hand, against the Titans on the Gold Coast on Sunday.

Brenko Lee, another exciting youngster on the Raiders roster, will move into Wighton's spot after scoring a double against the Tigers in the Raiders' last match - a 19-18 defeat before last weekend's bye.

"Jack's a big loss - he was just starting to find some real form for us, so we'll wait and see what happens there," White said.

One of Lee's tries against the Tigers was from a spur-of-the-moment chip and chase.

"As long as he keeps his feet on the ground, hopefully he'll develop," White said of Lee, adding the Raiders were fresh after their bye.

In other team news, Warriors prop Ben Matulino will return from knee surgery against the Eels at Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday night.

Blues and Eels fullback Jarryd Hayne was not named to back up from tonight's third Origin, with regular halfback Chris Sandow pencilled in to fill the custodian's role.

The Panthers have named electric youngster Tyrone Peachey to start at five-eighth against the Broncos at Sportingbet Stadium on Monday night.

Penrith halfback Peter Wallace (ankle) could miss the rest of the season, with regular five-eighth Jamie Soward switching to No.7.
