Inked ladies meet for high tea and fashion at The Workshop

IT'S a group that started in Melbourne for women wearing ink to feel welcome, but Rockhampton's Trish Jones says any woman, with or without tattoos, is invited to join The Inked Petticoats.

The first-time mum started the Rockhampton branch only late last year and it has since gained a following.

"It's for women who want to get out and make new friends and network within their community," Trish said.

"The Inked Petticoats celebrates women, friendships and individuality. We strive to foster the world's largest and most successful sisterhood.

"So every month we're going to try and hold a different event this year and see where it takes us. We want the group to grow and expand to even include connections with other areas like Gladstone, Mackay and Blackwater."

That's why the group is inviting ladies to take part in their high tea in conjunction with Atomic Beauty on Saturday at The Workshop in East St, with funds raised going towards the Rockhampton Women's Health Centre.

"It's very empowering to be able to do this because we are ladies helping women's causes," Trish said.

The event includes complimentary champagne on arrival, a five-minute head, shoulder and neck massage, a Rockabilly fashion parade by Atomic Beauty and a delicious lunch and sweets menu.
