Inner wheel's hip with the '60s

INCOMING president Rilla Evans chose the novel theme of “The Sixties - Hippie Night” for The Inner Wheel Club of Rockhampton Sunset changeover night.

The evening was extremely well supported as members and guests arrived dressed appropriately as hippies to add an element of fun to an otherwise formal occasion.

Master of ceremonies for the evening Lyndall Boswood kept the program running smoothly.

During the formal part of the evening, outgoing president Karen Baker gave her president's report and presented Past Service Badges to members.

She then inducted incoming president Rilla Evans, who outlined her plans for the year ahead and then introduced the incoming office bearers and presented them with their badges of office.

Apart from the serious business of the changeover, the rest of the evening was one of fun and frivolity and much laughter.

Musical entertainment included songs of the era, Good Morning Starshine and Where Have All the Flowers Gone, and dancing which proved popular with the gathering.
