Intruders pull gun in invasion

TWO intruders burst into a North Rockhampton home.

One of them began to wrestle with an occupant.

The other intruder reached for a gun.

It was drama fitting for a movie scene but it played out in Elphinstone Street on Tuesday night.

During the incident a demand was made for cash and drugs.

After a small sum of cash and a computer was handed over, the men fled.

Police yesterday said the 10pm incident may have been a case of mistaken identity and there weren't drugs at the property.

Acting Regional Crime Co-ordinator Detective Inspector Ben Carroll said the assailants had forced their entry.

Police investigations revealed that the offenders weren't known to the man and woman living at the residence.

“With the majority of cases like this the offenders are known to the person,” Acting Inspector Carroll said.

Both intruders are broad-built Caucasians.

One of the men is 190cm and the other is 180cm in height.

Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or the Rockhampton Police Station.
