It's nothing personal: Radio star speaks about king hit

A BUMP behind radio presenter Todd Widdicombe's left ear is the only physical scar after he was hit in the head three times by an unknown man on Friday night.

But the unprovoked attack in a busy Caloundra, packed with families, has left Mr Widdicombe and his colleagues shocked and stunned.

Co-host Sami Muirhead fought back tears as she talked about the moment she saw her best buddy allegedly  "king hit" from behind by an obviously aggravated person in the crowd.

Fellow colleague Krystal Moore was also hit in the hand as she tried to protect Mr Widdicombe from the attack.

The man rushed off into the crowd, but was apprehended by police later.

Mr Widdicombe said police had advised the person was "known to them" and the incident was not a personal attack.

More details in tomorrow's Daily.
