Jail threat for incest sex offender who broke order

A REGISTERED sex offender who failed to comply with his reporting conditions before missing two court dates now has two months of jail hanging over his head after facing court.

The 24-year-old man, who can not be named, became a reportable offender in 2008 after being convicted of incest.

The man yesterday pleaded guilty in Bundaberg Magistrates Court to two counts of failing to comply with reporting conditions and two counts of breaching bail.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Hayley Glover said the man had failed to report on October 22 and November 1 last year and had then failed to appear in court on January 14 and January 28 this year.

Magistrate Deb Vasta sentenced the man to two months' jail suspended for 12 months, saying if he did not comply again he was likely to find himself in jail.
