GOONDIWINDI Rodeo champion Jake Finlay is ready to take on the world.
The saddle bronc rider was selected in the Australian National High School Rodeo Team which will compete in the United States next week.
The National High School Finals Rodeo will take place in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and is set to include 1500 competitors from across the USA, Canada and Australia.
It is his third selection in the Australian team for Mr Finlay, who earlier this year cemented his qualification by winning the Australian Bronc Riding Title for the second consecutive year.
Following the competition, Mr Finlay will head to Oklahoma to commence his university degree with Oklahoma Pan Handle State University.
"I knew I wanted to rodeo in the USA as well as obtain a university degree," Mr Finlay said.
"I met the rodeo coach, Craig Latham, at college day in Rock Springs last year and since then have been very fortunate to be offered a four-year rodeo scholarship with OPSU studying animal science, livestock production and management.
"Being a member of the Australian High School Rodeo Association has given me the opportunity to represent Australia and further my education.
"I have learnt anything is possible with hard work and dedication," a jubilant Mr Finlay said.
