Jan Kelly says Yeppoon Foreshore is exciting and critical

Jan Kelly

YEPPOON Foreshore Development is exciting and critical to the ongoing growth of our shire. As a council we are working to ensure that it is done well, will meet the expectations of residents and will remain an attractive and relevant feature for the Capricorn Coast into future decades.

The finalisation of the Zero Depth Water Feature in December will make Christmas and New Year celebrations on the coast even more special this year. The drawcard this playground presents will provide an incentive for visitors and families to make our Capricorn Coast their destination of choice.

In our many achievements, the return of Livingstone's community spirit would be high on the list. Early in our term the decisions made to remove hire fees for community groups using our John Street Community Centre and the halving of hall and park hire fees has brought a resurgence of ownership and usage by our community groups.

Having enjoyed the challenges and opportunities being part of the LSC team, it is my intention to nominate again in 2016. I hope to be given again the opportunity to represent the residents of Livingstone Shire Council for the next four-year term.
