Jayde Kendall’s accused killer to be mentioned in court

THE man accused of murdering Gatton teen Jayde Amanda Kendall will have his matter mentioned today in Ipswich Magistrates Court.

Lockyer Waters man Brenden Jacob Bennetts, 19, was charged with Miss Kendall's murder following the discovery of her body earlier this year.

Miss Kendall was last seen on August 14 getting into a red Toyota Corolla outside Lockyer District High School.

It is alleged money was then taken from Miss Kendall's Commonwealth Bank account at 5.45pm and 5.47pm.

It is understood Miss Kendall, 16, was not the person who accessed the account.

Miss Kendall was reported missing the following day - sparking a highly-publicised police search across the region.

Her body was found 13 days later, dumped in a paddock off Allens Rd, Upper Tenthill, following a tip-off to Crime Stoppers.

Mr Bennetts was a person of interest from the moment Miss Kendall was reported missing, and was arrested hours after her body was located.

Her murder rocked the Gatton community which held several candlelight vigils in the teen's memory.

Mr Bennetts has not applied for bail and remains in custody at Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre at Wacol.
