Jeff Seeney cops speeding fine

DEPUTY Premier Jeff Seeney has been caught speeding 18kmh above the speed limit in his home electorate.

The Callide MP has issued a statement saying he was overtaking another car while driving between Biloela and Monto on Sunday when he copped the speeding fine.

Mr Seeney, who was in his private car, was clocked as travelling at 118kmh in a 100kmh zone.

Mr Seeney said he would pay the fine personally and regretted breaching the speed limit.

Former police minister David Gibson resigned his ministerial post just a few weeks after the LNP entered government last year for speeding.

He had failed to pay a speeding fine which resulted in a disqualification he claimed he was unaware of.

The Gympie MP then got caught speeding again while he was disqualified and was forced to step down.
