Jobling retrial in Mackay

THE retrial of accused murderer Scott Andrew Jobling is due to be heard in the Mackay District Court mid next year.

Jobling, who is accused of killing Rockhampton woman Suzanne Standing at Etna Creek, went on trial before Justice Kieran Cullinane in Mackay twice this year already.

But both trials were aborted for undisclosed reasons.

Jobling, 38, had pleaded not guilty to murdering Ms Standing on August 5, 2005.

The retrial was originally set down for April next year before Justice Duncan McMeekin but he told the Supreme Court today Justice Cullinane should hold the retrial because he’d already heard much of the evidence.
