Jobling trial aborted

THE Supreme Court trial of a Rockhampton man for the murder of his former partner was aborted yesterday for legal reasons.

The trial had started in Mackay on Wednesday.

Justice Kerry Cullinane discharged the 12 jurors yesterday.

Scott Jobling, 38, has pleaded not guilty to murdering Suzanne Standing, 30, at Etna Creek near Rockhampton on August 5, 2005.

The trial is expected to start again today with a fresh jury if that can be done at short notice.
